Any window that relies on WINDOWS explorer causes error and shuts down the window. Two files it says that can help solve the problem have to to with appcompat (which, of course bizarrely makes sense to me).
Anyone else see this?
Without windows explorer. fairly useless upgrade for me.

I have a similar problem, when anything uses windows explorer I get a blue screen.
i got the same problem. your right, its useless without explorer, cant use control panel or anything!
I had same problem. clicked on Windows Explorer or tried to open a file through a programme using explorer and it went to Blue Screen and restarted. I tried the selective startup in System Configuration and found that If I deselected "Server" in the Services tab, it has got rid of the problem.
Hope that helps you.

Had the same problem with explorer going to blue screen
Used the selective startup in System Configuation and found that if I deselected "Server" from the the Services tab, the problem has gone.
Hope this helps.

Well, i tried it, but it didn`t work. I aint getting blue screen, i get an error message then explorer restarts. It works in safe mode so maybe it got to do with something in "services"

Can only suggest that using system configuration again, that you go to the services tab and click the deselect all button. Then when restarted try again to open explorer. If it works then there is something in there that is causing the issue. You then just go through a bit of a process of turning on something, restarting and trying again. I turned on 3 or 4 services each time before finally finding the problem with mine. It took a while but at least I can use it.
Good Luck

I will do. But i dont have to restart. i opened "services" in safe mode and then i copied a shortcuut to the desktop. "services" is not in explorer but you have to use explorer to get to it. But thanks for the help, i will post what i did if i can make it work.
